Sección a la antigua usanza / cross-section the old way

Cuando hace unos días dibujaba el exterior del Santuario de la Victoria, pensaba en el curioso contraste entre el interior recargado de estas iglesias barrocas y su exterior sobrio y neutro. Al reflexionar sobre lo difícil que sería explicar la correspondencia de los volúmenes representados en el apunte con los espacios interiores, se me ocurrió dibujar una sección longitudinal que aclarase dicha relación. Los estupendos dibujos de mi admirado Gérard Michel me han servido de estímulo, así que he recordado mis trabajos de análisis de formas de mi época de estudiante y me he puesto a la faena.

When some days ago I drew the outside of the Santuario de la Victoria, I thought of the curious contrast between the ornate baroque interior of these churches and its sober and neutral exterior. I was also thinking on how difficult it would be to explain the correspondence of the volumes represented in the sketch with the interior spaces, it occurred to me to draw a cross section to clarify that relationship. The great pictures of my admired Gérard Michel encouraged me to do so, then I remembered the works I did for the subject of análisis de formas in  my student days and I started the job.
