A rock with a view / una peña con vistas

Málaga, city center from North-West

For the writing of my doctoral thesis, I am often using images of ancient drawn city views. In some sense, Malaga can be considered one of those cities surrounded by seven hills, which provide good vantage points for such a task. One of the most used ones is the Cerro de los Angeles, northwest of the city center and about 1500 m. away from it. I found inspiring climb up there to draw the panorama, and I must say that from his hillside covered with olive trees, the city seems much more serene than at street level, still the buzz of traffic is well present.

It was fun to imagine my illustrious predecessors sitting on the same rock where I was, drawing their views long ago, let's say about two or two and a half centuries. Not to mention the many photographers who have also been rewarded with a beautiful image after the climb.

There is much more Malaga to the West that has not been captured in my drawing, and hopefully I will sketch on a next visit to the hill.
